Enoch Adeboye Gazes At His Crystal Ball

The RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, The Crystal Ball And Unbiblical Prophecies

There is this strange phrase in Revelation 14:12: “The patience of the saints”. Everyone who would have life, eternal life, will need to exercise this patience. We need to know what are given to us by God so we may avoid poisons that are good lookalikes. We need to be able to sift the wheat from the sand even where the sand is wrapped ever so cleverly in the best colours.

The stories and prophecies in the Book of Revelation are erroneously believed to be only for the generation that will be on the earth at the end of the age. The devil’s scheming and the shenanigans recorded in Revelation are seen to apply only to those that will witness the actual physical appearances of the Beast, the Dragon and the False Prophet. On this, the average Christian feels he is in a more secured world compared to the ones that will witness these things.

So the devil would like us have it: he would have us believe we are living in a world with little or no dangers  – surely not from malevolent extraterrestrial beings. Demons, fallen angels, Satan? Where would you get such?  Eat, drink and be merry: tomorrow will be better than now, and much more materially rewarding! We have forgotten that the Bible never said Satan and his angels would be on holiday at any time before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to set up God’s Kingdom on earth.

Most, if not all, of us are unaware we are indeed on a war front and our adversary is relentless and vicious. We have nearly all lost basic war survival skills: watchfulness, information gathering, prayer, real study of the Bible, planning, knowledge of the beliefs, practices and teachings of cults, quick recognition and rejection of ideas that impugn on the glory and majesty of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ. We have nearly all lost the basic Christian belief that the Bible does not need any improvement, modernization, deletions, additions or editing. Not many of us now realize what we have in our hands are actual Words and Mind of God and they will be the only things we shall have to contend with at our end.

We have now various teachers. They sound very pious and grave and we give them honour because they say they are ‘men of God’. Some of them now style themselves ‘fathers of faith’! How do we know the new teachings and ideas coming from these teachers are from the Lord rather than the Enemy? Hasn’t the Lord left us at the mercy of the new teachers and their ideas?

That is so if we don’t read His words. Psalm 119:89Ps 119:152, Ps 119:160 and so many other passages have quite a few things we can not do without:

Psa 119:152  Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever.  Psa 119:160  Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Psa 119:89  For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven”.

God’s words don’t change from one generation to another, no matter what the people who preach the so-called New Apostolic Reformation say.

The eternalness, certainty and reliability of God’s words are things that are called into question almost everyday by Pastor Enoch Adeboye. His pronouncements of new prophetic revelations, supposedly from God, are nothing other than attempts at nullifying the Bible or, at the least, diluting the importance of its words. This is the truth whether or not he realizes the gravity of what he is doing. Think of it: If new revelations from God come from Pastor Adeboye, what made the ones that came from Isaiah, Jeremiah, Paul or even Jesus any special? We all need to be very careful about this and watch keenly what he is teaching. Everyone in Nigeria, and even in the world at large, must come to a decision on which we must believe: God’s written words in the Bible or Pastor Adeboye’s new revelations.

We shall examine some of his last few published prophecies with the Bible. In doing this we must adopt the Bible’s definition of a true, God-sent prophecy.

Deu 18:21  And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?”

God answered His own question:

Deu 18:22  When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him”.

Readers should note in Deu 18:22 the very strict terms and conditions a person must meet before he can be regarded as a prophet of God: whatever the prophet said in the name of the Lord must come to pass just as he said it. There is no room for if or but: things must happen exactly as the prophet predicted otherwise he is a false prophet.  Every specific piece of  information on time, location, date, the person(s) involved, the named animal, the financial or material consequences, natural occurrences of weather, heat, storms, earthquakes, tornadoes, fires, floods, cold, sun, moon, all, must line up perfectly with the prediction. If any piece of the prophecy does not align with the actual occurrence in number, scope or effect, the Bible definition is the person is a false prophet.

We must also note that God frowns at people ascribing their educated guesses or information acquired from other sources to Him.

Jer 14:14  Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.”

Given the foregoing we must look at the following Mr Adeboye’s 2017 and 2016 published New Year Prophecies. (The prophecies are in different prints; our comments are in normal print). You can call up the audio in the attached YouTube links.

Enoch Adeboye 2017 Prophecy

“The focal word the Lord showed me is the word, ‘Surprise’!”

‘You need to understand that a surprise can be a two-edged sword. The same surprise can be one thing for the oppressed; a different thing for the oppressor.

A

  1. “So , Nigeria, in the year 2017, the year is going to be of surprises; both for the oppressed and the oppressors”.

  2. “Those deliberately making life difficult for the common man will be relocated”. Amen en en!

Our Comments:

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables”. 2 Ti 4:3-4

Pastor Adeboye’s prophecies are nothing but sweet words he knows his hearers would like to hear. Implicit in the prophecy is the belief that God is especially hostile to those “making life difficult for the common man”. Apparently the fact the ‘common man’ is an adulterer, a murderer, a liar or a consulter with occult priests has no impact on what God would do in the following year. God is only concerned with the rich-man, poor-man grudge!

What does the Book say?

” …and God is angry with the wicked every day.
If he (the wicked) turn not, he will whet (sharpen) his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors”. Psa 7:11-13

The God of the Bible is more concerned with the people, the vast majority of whom are sinners, turning from their sins, than surprising their ‘oppressors’. Most of the oppressors are actually appointed by God as punishment for the sins of the sinners, to start with. That is the story in Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel.

For individuals:

B

  1. “It will be a year of surprises; for prophets, both true and false”.

  2. “There will be quite a large number of weddings!” Amen en en!

  3. “Soul winners will see their prophecies fulfilled almost as soon as they utter it. Soul winners will see their prophecies fulfilled almost as soon as they utter it”.

Our Comments:

“It will be a year of surprises; for prophets, both true and false” cannot be true. There is nothing to surprise the true prophet by: he has only prophesied as and when God told him to do. Nothing can therefore surprise him when, not if,  his prophecies come true as God showed him.

And as for the false prophet, Psalm 7:11-13 quoted above has made plain God’s determined mind to punish all sinners. The false prophet will be surprised only to the level he willingly decides to disregard God and His avowed wish to bring him to judgment.

But if by surprising the false prophets, pastor Adeboye is saying God was going to get rid of all false prophets from the earth, that will only happen when the Lord Jesus Christ comes back. There is no valid Bible prophecy anywhere that false prophets will cease from the earth before that time. There is even no such prophecy in the Bible that God would specially get rid of false prophets in any one particular year from the earth before Christ returns. Pastor Adeboye’s prophecies of a special year of surprise for false prophets can only be false.

Does this mean the false prophets are safe in 2017? They, like all other sinners, are only as safe as God’s mercy withholds His wrath from falling on them. Psalm 7 says that can happen anytime.

Weddings!

There will be quite a large number of weddings? That cannot be a prophecy. In a gathering of mostly young adults, this is another sweet nothing. No particular person is named: it is all up there in the sky to be grabbed by whosoever.  Did you notice the enthusiastic ‘Amen en  en!’ mostly from female voices?

Soul Winner-Prophets?

Soul winners will see their prophecies fulfilled almost as soon as they utter them? How? Is it in the power of soul winners to prophesy God’s forgiveness or second birth to people they preach to or is it that they now acquire the power to prophesy to themselves or other people by the fact they preach the gospel to people? You only need to check this prophesy with the Bible just a little to see it cannot be from God.

Do you notice this is a subtle re-writing of the Bible? God is making some special fiat in His prophecy rules for soul winners! But, possibly only for 2017!

And, are soul winners necessarily prophets?

 On the international scene:

C

  1. “There will be surprises for many world governments, surprises for many world governments. And they’ll be in twos: monster earthquakes, an earthquake that will be so huge everyone will say, ‘This is a monster!’”

  2. “Monster floods, floods of monstrous proportions and there’ll be two; two of them”.

  3. “Monster hurricanes and typhoons; and there’ll be two of them”.

  4. “Monster tornadoes and there’ll be at least two of them”.

  5. “And, monster fire outbreaks!”’

Pastor Adeboye Reveals The Source Of His Prophecies: This Time It Is The Rod

Our Comments:

Monster Earthquakes!

Pastor Adeboye says we are having two monster earthquakes this year 2017. A monster earthquake, going by Pastor Adeboye’s description must be at least 9.0 on the Richter scale. Since earthquakes measuring 7 to 7.9 on the Richter scale occur normally an average of 189 times in a year, these quakes will not qualify. It is also safe to assume the quakes will occur in places where they will have notable impact on human life: therefore a ‘monster earthquake’ in the Sahara or Gobi Deserts where no serious concentration of human habitation can be found will not bring in the situation where, “everyone will say, ‘This is a monster!’”

The foregoing comments go for the monster hurricanes, monster tornadoes, monster fires. All these occurrences are only monstrous to the extent they are unusually huge and their effects are abnormal in the yearly run of these things.

In the situation where any of these prophecies  fail to occur by the end of the year 2017, every member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God who continues to maintain his membership of the church to the end of the first quarter of 2018 is confirmed as following a false prophet. “Deu 18:22  When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him” has no other meaning.

“You have five minutes to go before the new year and I want you to decree in these five minutes as violently as you can.

Decree everything you don’t want again in your life to go with the old year. You have five minutes.

I decree in the mighty name of Jesus: Sickness, you go now! Go with the old year! Ache, Pain, I decree in the mighty name of Jesus, go now with the old year!

Failure, go now with the old year! Weakness, Fruitless Efforts, Bondage, Oppression, go now with the old year! I decree everything that is standing between me and my destiny, go now with the old year! I decree: leave me now! Go! Never to return!”

Our Comments:

None of the teachings in the last four paragraphs is Biblical. They are all foreign to the teachings of the Bible. Where in the Bible did Pastor Adeboye derive his authority to issue decrees to spiritual beings to effect positive actions in the lives of his followers from?

Who is Pastor Adeboye ordering? God? That is not possible. God has not abdicated His throne to Pastor Adeboye or any other human. If the decrees are being issued to Satan to bring good things into the lives of Redeemed members, the reader should examine the implications of that.

The evil of the last four paragraphs can be seen more clearly in the New Age/New Thought teaching which forms the basis of the teachings of Word of Faith and Prosperity ‘churches’ that men are gods. And as gods, it is in the power of their mouths to order their lives as well as the physical, spiritual, financial and material worlds by the force of their words. This is the evil pastor Adeboye is putting into practice in these few words. He is inciting nothing but rebellion against God by these teachings.

Apparently pastor Adeboye’s bible does not include Lamentations 3:37 “Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?”

True Christians can pray to God for wealth, health and long life. But to decree any of these? That is another religion. Pastor Adeboye is not, in any way, connected to the God of the universe.

A ‘Then there are prophecies for individuals:

  • “Daddy (supposedly, God) says some families will trace the beginning of their generational blessings to this year! Amen en en! Some families will trace the beginning of their generational blessings to this year!”
  • “He (supposedly, God) says some will obtain help from unexpected sources”.
  • “He (supposedly, God) says grateful hearts will have more causes to be grateful! Grateful hearts will have more causes to be grateful!”
  • “ He(supposedly, God) says for many, the pendulum of life is generally on the upward swing now”.
  • “I like this one very much: He (supposedly, God) says a chosen few will receive blessings so large they can hardly contain it”.

B For Nigeria:

  • He (supposedly, God) says things are likely to get tougher before they get better but things will get better before the year ends”.
  • “He (supposedly, God) has something else to say; I’m trying to select the right words: He says what he started last year, he (supposedly, God) will finish this year provided we don’t rejoice too soon! What he(supposedly, God) started last year, he (supposedly, God)  will finish this year provided we don’t rejoice too soon!”

C On the international scene:

  • He(supposedly, God) says natural disasters: floods, fires, earthquakes, are likely to get progressively worse until governments realize that these are parts of divine judgments against those who pass unholy laws”.

  • “He (supposedly, God) says if governments will repent of disdaining Christ and his church, he (supposedly, God) will help them win the fight against terrorism”.

  • “He(supposedly, God) says a major war will be averted”.

  • “He (supposedly, God) says a new sexually transmitted disease will surface”’.

Our Comments:

We can start by looking at the first part of Mr Adeboye’s 2016 prophecy relating to individuals:

  1. “Daddy (supposedly, God) says some families will trace the beginning of their generational blessings to this year! Amen en en! Some families will trace the beginning of their generational blessings to this year!”

Can this really be from the God of the whole Earth? Anyone with elementary knowledge of economics, statistics or finance can state categorically that very many Muslims in Kano, Sokoto and Mecca and many atheists and homosexuals in the Silicon Valley, California, or at the Dealing Tables of the New York Stock Exchange marked the year 2016 as the beginning of their generational blessings. Anyone can do this with his eyes closed. If this was a prophecy, it is so ordinary, the reader will be hard put finding anything close to it in the whole Bible. There is no biblical precedence of any prophet of God giving prophecies this amorphous, ambiguous  and indeterminate. Mr Adeboye would have done a better job prophesying that the sun will rise on the Equator tomorrow.

The foregoing goes for items 2, 3, 4 and 5 as well. At best they are nothing more than a lazy and disingenuous reading of primary school level statistics. In actual fact those are statements of soothsaying. Pastor Enoch Adeboye is nothing but a very successful soothsayer.

On item B (1) on Nigeria, do you notice the word, ‘likely’ that God was supposed to have said on the economic outlook for Nigeria for 2016? You may need to run a computer search through the Bible for the last time God used likely for what He said was going to happen. You won’t find it, not even once, even though the Bible is at least 26% prophecy! The Sovereign of the universe does not use the word for whatever He has decided to do. Pastor Adeboye was speaking current affairs. Someone should please tell him to fear God a little and remove reference to God as the Author of his projections next time. Anyone with a little time in elementary economics and accounting classes can do economic and financial projections and modeling without calling them prophecies and revelations from the Almighty.

As to the part predicting things would turn out better at the end of the year, this was virtually the same prophecy for 2015. Since the prior prophecy obviously didn’t come through, was it any surprise the one for 2016 was no better?

Item B 2 is superstitious. It cannot come from the God of the Bible. God does not change His mind because His children rejoice at seeing what He has started doing. Please send a definite example of anything like this in the Bible, if you can find one; I will publish it. The opposite are what you will find: God telling people to start celebrating once He tells them of their deliverance or any good thing that is going to happen to them.

Have you ever read the story of king Jehoshaphat and his singing choir at a war front? 2 Chronicles 20 is an interesting read. The God of the Bible cannot have His plans thwarted by any other being or sets of extraneous circumstances. The teaching that such is possible should tell you which god talks to Pastor Adeboye. The Lord Jesus Christ taught His disciples to accept their prayers were answered once they prayed. Mark 11:24  “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”. That is what He calls faith. In actual fact, He rebuked and punished men for not believing whatever He told them was going to happen!  The idea that men should not rejoice prematurely on a good thing is standard folk superstition in many nationalities, tribes and cultures. The whimsical gods may change their minds! On the contrary, the God of prophecy in the Bible give words that stand true thousands of years after they were uttered!

Item C 1 would have been okay but for the fact that the Book of Job is in the Bible! Disasters happen that have no connection whatsoever with the sins of the individual victim. Jesus also taught a man was born blind so God might show His glory. The teaching that natural disasters are punishments for unholy laws cannot stand true Biblical tests. On the basis of this prophecy, the absence of natural disasters in Saudi Arabia is a confirmation of the holiness of their laws.

A quick look into the Bible would show anyone that C2 cannot be true. Is Pastor Adeboye saying God told him the IS terrorists will not be defeated unless governments repent and stop disdaining Christ and His Church? This is part of a general error that New Apostolic Reformation  Churches such as Pastor Adeboye’s are to set up God’s Kingdom on Earth. The Devil is the god of this world. He is and will continue in control until the Lord Jesus Christ returns.

On the new sexually transmitted disease expected in 2016 in C 4, the above November 13, 2015 publication by NHS News on the issue is the worst evidence Pastor Adeboye’s prophecy was a cheap product of a normal internet surfing.

Eze 13:2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;
Eze 13:3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! ….

Eze 13:6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.
Eze 13:7 Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?
Eze 13:8 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.
Eze 13:9 And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.”

May the Lord Jesus Christ help each reader to understand Him clearly and give him the heart to obey Him fully.

Dr Enoch Adeboye and the Pentecostal people are unto something very, very serious. But it has got nothing to do with the God of the Bible.

“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near”.  Isa 55:6

Unless you check the Bible, you will  never suspect what Word of Faith preachers teach is witchcraft, not Christianity.

Your duty is understanding What is going on.

Sad, but true, what Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyer, David Oyedepo, Chris Oyakhilome, Enoch Adeboye, T. D. Jakes, William Kumuyi, and every Word of Faith preacher teaches is SORCERY, not the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ.

True, biblical, Christianity has never been more distorted. 2 Cor 11:13-15
