William Kumuyi: Teacher Of Falsehood

“The Spiritual Significance Of Midnight”: Occult Mysticism As Christianity

Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. John 5:23

John 8:24  I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

…the truth is in Jesus.  Eph 4:21

The last thing the average ‘Christian’ in Nigeria would like to read is an article that calls the teachings of his cherished pastors into question. “How dare you ever permitting the thought that Mr William Kumuyi may not be a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ in your mind?”, most of them would burst out in anger! “How dare you say a retired mathematics professor with a first class degree in the hardest course on earth does not know what he is teaching?”, they assert. Most of these  so-called Christians, totally ignorant of the contents of the Bible, have promoted their pastors to statuses the Bible has not permitted to mere mortals.

Most of them are oblivious to the fact that God is very, very different from Who people think He is.  Jesus in Luke 16:15 says, “that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God”!

The issue, my friend, is not Mr Kumuyi’s smartness or erudition: the issue is what God, in the Bible, says. That is what you MUST pay very close attention to.

You must begin to remove your mind from Mr Kumuyi’s mastery of English grammar to start listening to the actual words that come out of his mouth.

We are living in a particularly dangerous time in human history. The prophecies about false teachers and false prophets given by the Lord Jesus Christ and His Apostles have never been fulfilled in any other time more than now. Matthew 7:22-23, Matthew 24:3-51 Timothy 4:1-2, Jude 4  ,  Acts 20:29-30,   Matthew 24:11 and Matthew 24:24-25 are being fulfilled before our eyes at an alarming rate. The airwaves, internet, radio, television and other media are filled with the presence of false teachers and imposters.

This brings no small confusion to the average person. However when you consider the situation a little, you discover human beings have never had the opportunity to know the truth as much as now. God, in His mercies, is causing the same media to be used as means of unearthing the lie and letting anyone who cares about the truth learn about the true God.

How would you have readily believed me if I told you Mr William Kumuyi is a teacher of falsehood if I can not give you videos of him teaching such falsehoods?  What would you have thought if told  that the Deeper Christian Life Ministry has got nothing ‘deeper’, not even ephemeral, about the Christ of the Bible to teach? Almost all Mr Kumuyi’s teachings are on how his exercise of will power has made him a successful religious person.

We see the goodness and mercies of the Lord Jesus Christ everywhere. There are thousands of video and audio recordings of these men and women teaching doctrines we would have expected at AMORC, MORMON, ECKANKAR, Jehovah’s Witnesses and other cult gatherings. This post is a look at few of such videos.

“The Spiritual Significance Of Midnight”

“This is a special session. And it’s special because of a particular reason am going to show you. Many people don’t understand anything about the spiritual significance of midnight. And if you look  at your programme, you will see that deliberately we’ve extended everything till midnight, to stop exactly at midnight. Because there are some special things that take place at midnight….”

“There was power, extra-ordinary power, at midnight…

“There’s life for the dead, at midnight…”

“There’s healing for the sick, at midnight…”“There’s deliverance for the oppressed, at midnight…”“There’s dominion for the souls that are delivered, at midnight…”“There’s supply, supernatural supply, for those who are poor, at midnight…”“There’s wife for those who are not yet married, at midnight…”“There’s husband for those who are not married, at midnight…”“… children for the barren, at midnight…”“The gates are open, the windows are open, the supernatural is taking place, at midnight…”

Click on the video and listen to the words directly from Mr Kumuyi. You need to hear him yourself. But, please watch out on the hypnotic Christian religious music before the sermon.

Did you hear what he is saying? Did you really get it? Those supernatural things Mr Kumuyi is quoting in the Bible happened because of the time of the night. It just had to be the midnight! In fact the midnight brought them!

And, well, if you want any such thing, you now know what you must do!

What Is Not Said

Did you notice the overwhelming prominence given to the Lord Jesus Christ as The Source of answers to peoples’ prayers in that sermon? You heard the Lord Jesus Christ mentioned so many times as the Giver of life, hope and succor to His people? Did you not hear where Mr Kumuyi’s audience was told in no uncertain terms, “no one comes to the Father, but by Me”? John 14:6.

You couldn’t have noticed any such thing because it is not there. You only notice Jesus by His absence from the thoughts and speeches of the preacher. Apart from, “In Jesus’ name!”, you do not hear anything about Jesus bringing the answers to the prayers of Mr Kumuyi’s audience. Mr Kumuyi’s, “in Jesus’ name!” is actually used as a talisman, a magic wand. Jesus’ name only came in as some form of a religious  formula that Jesus Himself was supposed to obey, or, at the least, approve. That is not Christianity: that’s occultism.

In true Christianity, the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is never used as magic word. In true Christianity, the Lord Jesus Christ does not only answer prayers, He does not simply fulfil the desires of His ‘followers’: He determines what prayers the Christian makes, to start with. His name is not merely used as invocation: He is looked up to to bring to pass whatever He decides in answer to the prayers of His people.

Revelation 22:18-19, Again

This is what the Bible calls adding to God’s words. Yes. A preacher may teach people to persevere in their prayers and waiting on God – but to teach that answers and deliverance and blessings come only at some special hour of the day or night is another religion. It is heathen.

The clear example of this was where the Syrians said they lost their battle with Israel  because God was only a God of the hills, not of the valley! 1 Kings 20:23-28.

What Mr Kumuyi is teaching here is the standard definition of superstition. Superstitions are based on the beliefs that the relationships between physical objects can elicit spiritual activities  –  either positive or negative. Mr Kumuyi is here teaching that the angular relationship between the Earth and the Sun (which is, essentially, what time is) yields spiritual benefits.

<figure>

Divination And Observers Of Times

Deuteronomy 18:10 and Deuteronomy 18:14

Readers must note the close connection God draws between divination and observation of times in the following passages in Deuteronomy and Leviticus:

Deut 18:10 : There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

and

Deuteronomy 18:14: For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.Leviticus 19:26 Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.

To God, saying time brings miracles is akin to divination. It is witchcraft.  That, sadly, is what Mr Kumuyi is teaching his followers here.

True Christians do not put any spiritual significance on any time of day or night in God answering their prayers. Only heathens and fake Christians do and teach this sort of thing.

Leaving Off The Lord Jesus Christ: Philosophy And Empty Words Col 2:8-9

Col 2:8  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Col 2:9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Every teaching in a church that focuses away from the Person, Works, Grace, doctrines and the mysteries of Christ is, at best, vain, empty word.

In most cases they are far worse: they are doctrines of demons.

Eternal Life Is In A Person, Not In A Set of Ideas!

Since eternal life exists only in a Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, (John 1:4John 14:61 John 5:11), not in any idea, no matter how seemingly good it sounds, these teachings by Mr Kumuyi and other Pentecostals are designed by Satan to sidetrack, deceive and destroy the hearer.

The Bible is not a book of principles of how a man may live the good life: it is not even a book of how  you can live a life acceptable to God: this book says no man has ever, by his own will, or following any set of principles or laws,   lived such a life. It is a book of how man can meet with the ONLY PERSON that can make him acceptable before God. Any attempt to teach anything, including Mr Kumuyi’s dress and physical appearance oriented  ‘holiness’ or power flowing through the mouths of his hearers,  instead of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, is a broth brewed by the Devil.

Appeal To Crass Asceticism

Did you notice the unbridled appeal to asceticism in that sermon? The deliverance that Paul and Silas experienced  in the prison was due to the fact that they prayed till midnight!  Their deliverance was because of their staying power: if they had left off praying before midnight, their deliverance would not have come! And, of course, Paul could only have raised the dead young man at midnight!

Did you notice the extra-ordinary lengths Mr Kumuyi was going in hiding the presence, glory and sovereignty of God in these stories? He is teaching miracle while ‘cleverly’ avoiding the Miracle Worker. And this is supposed to be a faith sermon!

Listen To What Every Teacher Is Saying: It Represents His Beliefs

…for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh Matthew 12:34.

“It Was In the Mouth”

<figure>
</figure>

You may wish to watch this other video of Mr Kumuyi’s teachings in case you doubt that what Joyce Meyer, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Copeland, Fred Price, David Oyedepo, Joseph Prince and Paul Enenche preach about the centrality of the mouth in procuring miracles is the same Mr Kumuyi teaches.

As far as Word of Faith preachers are concerned, men’s mouths are powerful enough to stop even God in His tracks!

“Joshua told them: ‘the secret of your up-ward progress is in your mouth’! The secret of breaking down, blowing up walls of demarcation between you and your possession; the secret is in your mouth.”

Did you get that? The secret of your success is NOT in God! You harbour it in your mouth! And anytime you need it, you simply, well, release it out!

But someone might ask, “From which passage or verse of the Bible did Mr Kumuyi get the belief that power resides in the mouths of his followers”?

This idea is not from any part of the Bible: it is directly from the occult.

The reader may need to read some teachings from out-and-out cultists to get an idea of the source of William Kumuyi’s teachings:

[“Ernest Holmes, founder of the worldwide Religious Science Movement wrote The Science of Mind, sometimes called one of the greatest New Thought books ever written. In it he tells us that Divinity is hidden in the “Innermost Nature Of Man Himself”

‘There is an interesting myth in regard to the creating of man which may serve to point out this fact. It is said that when the gods decided to make man, and make him a Divine Being, they held a long discussion as to where would be the best place to hide his Divinity… it was finally agreed that the best place to hide man’s Divinity would be in the innermost nature of man himself – this being the last place he would look to find it!… Of course, this is a fable, but how clearly it sets forth the reality of the case! The word is really in our own mouths, and every time we say “I am” we are repeating it; for “I am is the secret of nature and the emblem of Eternity’. (The Science of Mind, by Ernest Shurtleff Holmes [1926])

In the prologue of his book Discover the Power Within You Eric Butterworth, considered a legend and spiritual icon in the Unity Movement, added to the legend saying that, “Two thousand years ago a man named Jesus found it and shared its secret; but in the movement that sprang up in His name, the Divinity in Man has been the best kept secret of the ages.”

Here is some of what popular New Age teacher and author, Neale Donald Walsch says in his trilogy – Conversations with God:

“Do you want your life to truly “take off”? Then change your idea about it. About you. Think, speak, and act as the God You Are”  (Neale Donald Walsch, Conversations with God. Book 1. Putnam Adult; First Edition edition (October 28, 2011) Page 76)“I have produced an environment in which you may choose to be God, rather than simply be told that you are God; in which you may experience Godhead as an act of creation, rather than a conceptualization; in which the little candle in the sun – the littlest soul-can know itself as the light” (Ibid, page 57)“All that is required is to know this. For you are the creator of your reality, and life can show up no other way for you than that way in which you think it will. You think it into being. This is the first step in creation. God the Father is thought. Your thought is the parent which gives birth to all things.” (Ibid, Page 52)“You are already a God. You simply do not know it. Have I not said, “Ye are Gods”?”  (Ibid, Page 202)“Trust God. Or if you wish, trust yourself, for Thou Art God.” “(Ibid, page 350)](Culled from http://www.inplainsite.org/html/new_age_evolutionary_godhood.html)

Any follower of Mr Kumuyi must be able to situate much of his ‘church’s beliefs from the two above quotes

Look closely at the covers of these two books. One is from an out-and-out, open, New Age occultist, the other is supposedly from a ‘Christian’  author.

Two Books On Occult Power of Mouth Teaching By New Age And ‘Christian’Word of Faith Preacher: This Is What Kumuyi Also Teaches

That is NOT Christianity. That is Àfǫșę, in Mr Kumuyi’s native Yoruba. Mr Kumuyi and his mentors are unto nothing but pure occultism wrapped in the name of Christianity.

William Kumuyi: The Self-Confessed Disciple Of Fake Prophets And Prophetesses

<figure>
</figure>

You may wish to click on the above video to hear Mr Kumuyi’s indebtedness to various fake prophets  and prophetesses of the past.

These people were occultists in their lifetimes. They went into astral travel, séances and hypnotism. Many of them communicated with the dead. A good number of them were adulterers, adulteresses and serial divorcees; a few died of drug (barbiturate or alcohol) overdose. Some had reputation as homosexuals.  All  the while they claimed to be not only ‘born again’ but specially anointed.

The visions they had were not from the Lord Jesus Christ but demons.

The ‘tongues’ they spoke were from Satan.

Maria Woodworth-Etter!

Kathryn Kuhlman!

T L Osborn!

Smith Wigglesworth!

And to hear these were the self-acknowledged inspirers of Mr Kumuyi!

They don’t get worse:

“She arose from her chair, her eyes quite shut, and came in my direction. I got up and moved my chair. She walked right around and came to me. She slipped her fingers down, gave me a little chuck just like my late wife would have done, and said, ‘Jack, my Jack, God is with you all the time. Go right on. But my baby, my Teddy, I am so lonesome for him, but you pray so hard, you pray so hard”

That was John G Lake, one of Mr Kumuyi’s main inspirations, describing a visit he received (IN BROAD DAY LIGHT!) from his dead wife!

(Click HERE to read a few more things about Mr Kumuyi’s other mentors and role models)

Mr Kumuyi is into occultism. He is using fine grammar to cover up cultic teachings.

Did you hear Mr Kumuyi teaching you can have the power (or gifts) of the Holy Spirit without the presence of the same Spirit of God? Which prophet or Apostle ever had charisma without character in the New Testament?

Did you hear him teaching the occult dichotomy between ‘the natural realm’ and ‘the spiritual realm’? Where in the Bible did you read any of the Apostles teaching about ‘operating in the natural’ or ‘operating in the spiritual’?

In spite of whatever Mr Kumuyi and the Deeper Christian Bible Church would like the world to believe, much of his teachings have nothing to do with the Christian Bible.

Mr Kumuyi says he was once an Aladura, a white-garment priest. That is not true.

He IS, even now, an Aladura.

All he teaches ARE Aladura doctrines, even now.

No one who proclaims continuing indebtedness to Kathryn Kuhlman, Maria Woodworth-Etter,  John Alexander Dowie, John G. Lake, T L Osborn and William Branham can, at the same time, claims he is not an Aladura. He has only dropped the white garments.

<figure>John Alexander Dowie, One Of Mr Kumuyi’s Inspirers</figure>

Just like other Pentecostal and charismatic preachers, he quotes the Bible quite alright. But that is where his connection with the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ ends. Mr Kumuyi’s teachings are all sourced from Azusa Street. His ‘holiness’ posturing is the fake holiness side of the same false Pentecostal and Charismatic movement. His set of fake, so-called, “God’s Generals and Super Apostles” such as Peter C Wagner, Charles Parham, William Seymour and Kathryn Kuhlman   – and their teachings – are idolized by other Pentecostal pastors. His is simply the other face of the same satanic coin.

[sgmb id=”4″]

The Devil obviously knows a  thing or two about the human soul that we, humans, do not yet fully understand. He knows each human, once born, will live for ever: either with God or with the Devil in hell. He is frantically setting up and empowering men and women, many of them with good secular, social standing and education but little or no knowledge of the true God, as Christian religious leaders. These unconverted men and women then gather a following and many more people, ignorant of the contents of the Bible, accept them as representatives of Christ.

To what end are all of these done by the Devil? It is geared  towards his goal of creating his one-world anti-christ church with little or no opposition. The main thrust of the teachings of these groups is to either blatantly repudiate the words of the Bible concerning Christ or diminish the importance of His work and Person so as to create enough confusion in the minds of most people as to the Nature and Truths of God. In this, all the religions of the world, from the Pentecostals, to the Charismatics, to the Aladuras, to the Moslems, to the Catholics, to the Hindus, to the Buddhists are one. This church is now almost fully formed.

<figure>Maria Woodworth-Etter, Another White-garment Inspirer of William Kumuyi</figure>

By the time the reader spends a little prayerful time, with his Bible open, on Mr Kumuyi’s teachings, he will have no hesitation whatsoever  in correctly classifying  him as one of such men. Mr Kumuyi is, in these few videos, presenting teachings that not only cannot be found in the Bible, but are frontal attacks against the true God.

There is nothing like new Christianity. The mere thought there is any such thing is a deception from the old Enemy. Every preacher preaching so-called new Christianity or New Apostolic Reformation is in his employment.  You cannot preach new Christianity without saying the Bible – or parts of it – is either out of date or you have come to an understanding of portions of it that had not been known to Christians who lived in ages past . That, in a very subtle way, is the beginning of adding to or deleting from the word of God.

As an aside, no true Christian, we must say, in the almost 2,000-year history of the faith, ever thrusted himself forward as being ‘deeper’ or ‘holier’ than any other Christian. Every true saint who ever lived shouted of himself: “But for the grace of God, there goes the worst sinner”! 1 Timothy 1:15. Pride of life or achievement, of any sort, is always a hallmark of the devil, not something associated with the humble Jesus.

The secret of your success  or deliverance is not in your mouth. It is in the Almighty.

“O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.” Jer 10:23

Is it possible Mr Kumuyi and his other Word of Faith fake pastors have never come across the words in Lamentations 3:37 before?

Lam 3:37 “Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?”

Seek the true Lord Jesus and allow Him to guide you on what He wants to make of your life. And please remember, He does not exist for you. It’s the other way around.

Every form of Pentecostalism is evil, even when it dons the toga of ‘holiness’. How else could it be since it was founded on the denial of the Divinity of Christ: that the Man Who walked the earth in Israel and was hanged on the tree and rose from the dead was God Himself paying for the sins of wicked man.

<figure>Mat_ 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
You must choose who to believe between these men and the Lord Jesus Christ</figure>

Almost all the evil in the church today is traceable to this denial of the Divinity of Christ by the satanic horde calling itself Pentecostals and charismatics. It is at the root of their teachings that:

1  They are gods;

2  This is related to the teaching that power resides in their mouths;

3  And that God, if He does anything at all, only serves their desires and wishes;

4  They are not bound by biblical restraints;

5  They can set spiritual rules and override any they are not comfortable with;

6   These lead them into grotesque errors such as presuming to ordering spiritual beings about, something the Bible said even an archangel would not dare do, Jude 9;

7  Presumably bestowing blessings on whoever catches their fancy or pronouncing curses on those that offend them;

8  Ordaining females as pastors, evangelists and teachers in the church even though there are express prohibitions against these in the Bible, 1 Cor 14:34;

9  Declaring that they are the new reformation Christianity had been waiting for and that the era of the apostleships of Peter, John, James, Matthew and Paul has been superseded by their new revelations;

10 Virtually each of them proclaims he is the substitute christ and that power of life, death and eternity resides in him/her, thus fulfilling Matthew 24:5 and Matthew 24:24!

If the contents of these videos (and hundreds of others teaching essentially the same doctrines) can not be refuted,  no one following Mr Kumuyi  – and any other Pentecostal and Charismatic preacher  –  can deny he is not warned he is following a false teacher.

God is not mocked or deceived.
